Winifred was the eldest child of John & Elizabeth Vidler.  She was their only daughter, and was born in Ashburnham in 1904.

On 17 December 1932 she married George Shilling at St Mary's Church, High Halden, Kent.  The witnesses at the wedding were C J Vidler and E O Dunold.  George was born in 1903 and was the son of Walter Albert Shilling.

Winifred and George settled in Maidstone, where George was a van driver for Kent Carriers.

During the Second World War, whilst out working in Rye, George was killed by enemy action.

Winifred later married Mr Terry.

Winifred spent the later years of her life homes for the elderly in Crowborough, until she died on 6 May 1988.
