Philadelphia was the sixth child of William & Emma Vitler, and was baptised at Hooe church on 31 May 1818.

She had two children before she was married, but she did not give their father’s names at their baptisms.  In 1851 Philadelphia was living in Bexhill and working as a house servant.

On 24 April 1854 she married William Stonestreet at Mayfield church.  The witnesses at the wedding were her brother in law Stephen Carey, and Sarah Gad.  This was the first time that her name was recorded as Vidler.

William & Philadelphia had three more children.  In 1861 the family were living at Pierce Mile, Hadlow.  By 1871 they had moved to Barn Street, Hadlow.  In the 1881 census the family were living in West Peckham where William was a milkman and Philadelphia was a dairy woman.  They were still living at the same address in 1891.

Philadelphia died on 25 December 1892 at Lower Boro, West Peckham.  The informant was her son Thomas Stonestreet.  She was buried in West Peckham churchyard.  William was buried on 18 June 1894 in Chiddingstone churchyard.
