HOOE
Another charming war-wedding took
place at the Parish Church on Wednesday of last week between Pte. A. F.
Baker, King’s Hussars, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Baker, of Hooe, and
Miss Ida Ellen Vitler, third daughter of Mrs.G. Vitler, of Hall’s Cross,
Hooe. The best man was Mr. W. Pocock, cousin of the bridegroom. The
bride was given away by her brother, Mr Basil Vitler. She was attired
in a becoming dress of white voile, with veil and orange blossom, and
was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Mabel Vitler (sister), Miss C.
Collins, and the Misses Winifred and Mabelle Baker (sisters of the
bridegroom). The bride carried a large bouquet of white lilies, and the
bridesmaids white chrysanthemums. A reception was held at Hall’s Cross,
and a very enjoyable time was spent. The bridegroom returned to active
service abroad yesterday (Friday).
