St Peter's, Bexhill

George Henry Freeman was born in Hooe, and was baptised in St Oswald’s Church on 6th October 1844. After growing up in Hooe, George moved to Guestling, where he appears in the 1861 census as a milkman, working at Coghurst Farm.

He moved to Bexhill in the 1860s, and worked as an agricultural labourer. George married Jane Dare at St Mary Magdalen's Church, St Leonards, Hastings on 25th May 1869, and their son, Frederick Arthur was born in Bexhill in 1878.

Jane died in Bexhill in 1902, aged 63, and was buried at St Peter’s Church, Bexhill on 24th December 1902. After her death, George remarried.  His second wife was Clara Stripling, and they were married at St Peter’s Church, Bexhill on 5th December 1903.  George died in 1922.
