Ferdinand Hodgson Ball was the sixteenth child of John & Hannah Ball, and was born on 16 Sep 1841 in St George's Place, London.

Ferdinand married Elizabeth Jane Hewison, the daughter of John Hewison, on 1 Jan 1889 in St Peter's  Duxford  Cambridgeshire.  Elizabeth was born about 1841.

Ferdinand died on 29 Jun 1918, in Kings Avenue, Clapham.
