Edward Thomas Pocock was born in Hooe in 1853. He worked as a general labourer, and married Lucy Cramp at St Peter's Church, Bexhill on 11th September 1881. The witnesses at the wedding were the groom’s brother, Charles Pocock, and Sarah Errey. The couple had one daughter, Ethel Mary, born in Bexhill in 1888. Lucy died in 1924 at Levetts Wood Cottages, Bexhill and was buried in Bexhill Cemetery. Edward died Stone House, Battle in 1933, aged 80, and was buried with his wife in Bexhill Cemetery on 29th December 1933.
