Charlotte & Henry

Charlotte was the 8th child of William & Emma Vitler.  She was baptised in Hooe on 27 October 1822.  It is believed that she lived in Hooe all her life.

On 6 June 1840 she married Henry Lewis.  The witnesses at the wedding were James Spray, Sarah Lewis and Charlotte's sister, Philadelphia Vitler.  Henry was born c1816, and was the son of Samuel and Mary Lewis.

Charlotte and Henry appear on several census returns, living in Hooe with their family.  At the time of 1851 census their nephews James and William Vitler, sons of Charlotte's sister Philadelphia, were living with them.

After their deaths, Charlotte in 1893 and Henry in 1900, the couple were buried in Hooe churchyard.
