Augustus Owens Ball the son of Alfred & Jane Ball and was baptised 13 April 1862 in Lurgashall, Sussex. 

Augustus was an Assistant Master at a Board School in Hambledon, Hampshire.  He married Florence Susannah Cox in 1898, and later moved to Portsmouth.  Augustus and Florence had one son, Alfred Owens Ball born in 1904.

The family later moved to South Harting, Sussex, where Augustus died on 28 February 1948. Florence died at St Margaret’s, South Harting on 21 August 1963.
