Ambrose Holness was the son of Thomas & Mary Holness, and was born c1817. He was christened on 19 Feb 1817 in St Cosmos & Damian at Blean, Kent. Ambrose married Emily in about 1835. The couple lived in the village of Blean, where many of their children were baptised. By the time of the 1881 census they had moved to nearby Tyler Hill where Ambrose was employed as an Agricultural Labourer. We believe that Emily died in 1893, and Ambrose then lived with his youngest daughter, Eliza, and her family until his death in 1904. |
